ANOTHER LONG RUN AND A YUMMY SANDWICH

Guess what??  I ran 15 miles this morning!  15 slow, (but not as slow as they needed to be) manageable, conversation filled, but not sunny miles. Yesterday, the forecast called for it to be chilly (26 – feels like 14) and sunny.  It was CHILLY, but it wasn’t sunny.  Boo, we ran our route out in the “country” – lots of fields, lots of farms.  Not lots of color this time of year.  A little sun would have helped the warmth factor and it would have cheered the route up.  No such luck, so we sucked it up and did what we had to do  Here we are pre-run:

Ready to rock and roll...or at least run.

The training schedule called for mgp + 45 seconds = 10:30 per mile.  Total time – 2:28:37.  Uhm, yeah,  that’s a long time to be running.  We ended up averaging 9:54 spelled out like this:

still a big Garmin on a small person

Mile 1 – 9:40

Mile 2 – 9:32

Mile 3 – 9:32

Mile 4- 9:37

Mile 5 – 10:01

Mile 6- 10:04

Mile 7 – 9:54

Mile 8 – 9:40

Mile 9- 10:05

Mile 10 – 9:44

Mile 11 – 9:55

Mile 12 – 9:51

Miles 13 -9:52

Mile 14 – 10:07

Mile 15 -10:11

So, a run like that calles for a lunch like this:

The Scrumptious #2

Ladies and gentlemen THAT is a #2 from the world-famous Zingerman’s Deli in Ann Arbor, MI. I haven’t had one of those in about 10 years and it tasted GOOD!

Apparently, their grilled cheese hits the spot to.  I have evidence:

Tomorrow is the annual Shamrocks & Shenanigans 5k co-hosted by Running Fit and Conor O’Neill’s.  Wish me and my little stubby legs luck.  I’ll be running in a little costume and I take a few pics.  Check back in tomorrow!
